The Mater Hospital Lung Cancer Department had partly developed a MS Access database to store patient records.
It was decided to scrap this database and develop one using MS SQL Server with a web based interface for improved security, more usable interface and better scalability.
The main requirements of the project where to have a user management system, to store patient data and to enable detailed reports to be produced breaking down patients different symptoms, diagnosis and treatment paths.
